Privacy policy

The short version: this site does not require accounts, does not sell reader data, does not run tracking pixels for social platforms, and stores as little as possible about visitors. What it does store, and why, is spelled out below.

The short version

joi-ai.io publishes editorial content about the Joi AI platform. It does not host user accounts, does not maintain a mailing list, does not accept comments or user-generated content, and does not process payments directly. What visitors touch on the site is a stack of static HTML, CSS, JavaScript and images served from an ordinary web host. Data collection is limited to what the web server writes to logs and what the age-gate stores in the reader's own browser.

Data collected in server logs

The web host records standard server logs for every request. Fields captured include the IP address of the requesting device, the timestamp of the request, the URL requested, the HTTP status code returned, the referring page if the browser sent one, and the user-agent string identifying the browser and operating system. This is the standard set for any hosted static site.

Logs are used to diagnose site errors, monitor traffic volume, spot abuse and detect crawl patterns. Logs are not sold to third parties. Logs are not correlated with any external database to build a profile of a specific reader. Server log retention is limited to 90 days, after which entries are purged automatically.

Cookies

The only value written to the reader's browser storage by this site itself is joi_age_ok, an entry in browser localStorage set once the reader confirms they are over eighteen through the age gate. This is not a cookie in the strict sense but functions equivalently: it prevents the age gate from asking again on the same device. The value is stored on the reader's device only, not sent to the server, and is cleared when the reader clears site data through browser settings.

No advertising cookies, analytics cookies or session cookies are set by this site. Third-party services listed below may set their own cookies within their own scope; those are governed by their own policies.

Third-party services

Two third-party services touch pages served by this site.

Google Fonts serves the Bricolage Grotesque, Instrument Sans and Space Mono typefaces used across the site. When a browser loads a page, it requests these font files from Google's fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Google may log the IP address of the requesting device as part of that request. This site has no control over what Google does with that data; Google's own policy applies.

Outbound affiliate links to Joi AI at joi.ai use a redirect through the affiliate provider before landing on the platform. That redirect may append tracking parameters used by the affiliate provider to credit the referral. The redirect happens after the reader clicks "Open Joi AI," not when the page loads.

No Facebook pixel. No Google Analytics. No third-party ad networks. No social media tracking scripts. No behavioural profiling. This section is short because there is not much to disclose.

What the site does not do

The site does not maintain reader accounts. It does not collect email addresses. It does not run behavioural targeting. It does not share log data with data brokers. It does not respond to advertisers' data requests because it does not have advertisers or the data they would want. If you did not personally send an email to [email protected], the site does not have your email address.

Retention

Server logs: 90 days maximum, then automatic purge. Editorial correspondence sent to [email protected]: retained as long as the underlying issue remains open, typically no longer than one year. Age-gate localStorage entry: stored on the reader's device until the reader clears site data.

Reader rights

Under the GDPR (European Economic Area readers) and the CCPA (California readers), readers have specific rights over any personal data a site holds about them. Because this site holds almost none, most of these rights are satisfied by not collecting the data in the first place. Where a reader has sent an email to [email protected], the following applies:

Right of access: on request, the reader is told what emails they have sent and the content of those emails. Right of deletion: on request, editorial correspondence is deleted within thirty days. Right to object to processing: since correspondence is retained only to handle the issue raised, objecting effectively means closing the open matter, which is fine on request. Requests go to [email protected] with the subject line "Privacy request."

Children

joi-ai.io is a strictly 18+ resource. The site does not knowingly collect data from anyone under eighteen. If a parent or guardian believes a person under eighteen has sent an email to the editorial address, contact [email protected] and the correspondence will be deleted immediately. Changes to this policy

Material changes to this policy get an updated "effective date" at the top of this page and a note in the correction log on the editorial policy page. Minor changes (typo fixes, clarifications) are made silently. Any change that would broaden data collection carries a prominent notice on the affected page.

How this policy fits with the rest of the site

This privacy policy sits alongside the site's conditions of use, which covers what visitors are agreeing to when they read editorial content here. Adjacent to both is the 18+ gate and enforcement, since anyone reading the coverage has passed through it.
